About the council
The FIRST South Carolina Youth Advisory Council is a committee made up of student representatives from all across the state who create, support, and participate in a variety of community initiatives. The council is being established to allow students to have a voice in the initiatives and decisions that would directly impact the state’s youth. Members will take on an active leadership role and will be allowed to overlook and manage discovering solutions to issues that may present themselves within the FIRST community.

Candidate Requirements
A FIRST South Carolina Youth Council candidate must be a student who embraces the FIRST Core Values, is hardworking, and wants to make a difference in their community. Candidates must be between the ages of 14 - 18 and actively participating in one or multiple FIRST programs.
Applicants will be contacted after the deadline to arrange a virtual interview.
Council Expectations
The Council expects members to:
Embody the FIRST Core Values
Support their fellow council members and their initiatives
Attend monthly meetings
Lead at least one initiative
Attend two FIRST SC outreach events per year
Attend one FIRST SC fundraising event per year
